Snooker Crazy to sponsor Cuestars Championship

Cuestars Report

OUR latest sponsor really is Snooker Crazy!

Retired gas man Marc Lockley runs a website of that name which supplies cues, cases, tips and a whole range of other accessories from his base in Waterlooville.

Explaining why he stepped in to sponsor the Cuestars Championship at Waterlooville Sports Bar on May 12 next year, the 54-year-old said: “I just enjoy snooker and if I can do anything to help grow this wonderful game then superb.

“I think Tim (Dunkley) and John (Hunter) have done a fantastic job with getting the Cuestars name out there which presents opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enter the game and compete at the many different levels on offer. And it’s local.”

Marc worked for British Gas for 28 years and then had a spell as a gas consultant before setting up the Snooker Crazy website a year ago.

“I thought, let’s do something I want to do rather than something I need to do,” he said.

Marc still captains a snooker team for Petersfield Bowling & Snooker Club in the Midhurst and District League and helps support the league in his capacity as league secretary.

He can often be seen honing his skills at Waterlooville Sports Bar and is a strong supporter of snooker coaching.

“Why not use the all-round experience of qualified coaches who have been around the game for years rather than struggling to find solutions that they already have?” he asks. “It’s a great way to advance quickly without all that pain.”

Few snooker websites offer a try-before-you-buy service but every decent player knows that you can’t tell if a cue is right for you until you have held it in your hands.

If you book a table at Waterlooville Sports Bar, Marc is happy to meet customers there and allow them to knock a few balls around with a selection of cues before they part with their hard-earned cash.

Marc has over 70 snooker and pool cues in stock at any one time so why not visit the Snooker Crazy website at www.snookercrazy.com and follow ‘The Snooker Crazy Group’ page on Facebook.

If you’d rather discuss your requirements with Marc, call him on 07770 966727.
