UK Championship

Steve Davis has won the UK Championship more than any other professional. He is closely followed by Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O’Sullivan on 5 and John Higgins on 3.

The first winner of the tournament was Patsy Fagan who beat Doug Mountjoy 12-9 at the ‘Tower Circus in Blackpool.’

Although the UK Championship started out as a non ranking tournament, this changed in 1984 and is now second to the World Snooker Championship on a ranking basis.
