Just because the butt has dulled down a little there isn’t always a need to go straight back to stripping and oiling. For me, each player has to decide what is more important to them as regards the butt. Does it need a deep shine, does i need a smooth surface, are you looking for grip or do you just want it slippery smooth; this will dictate what sort of finish you require.
